Flowers in the Mirror, Moon in the Water

🌙Hymn of the Eternal Moon · Lauma

“Under the care of our kind-hearted Moonchant Envoy, no innocent person or beast shall be harmed… Alas, the law of the jungle holds no sway here. Carnivores accustomed to the taste of flesh may be in for a hard time.”
— Nepher

As the indigenous people of Nordcalais, the Children of Frostmoon now find themselves out of place in the current tide of events.

They are far too ancient, far too rigid—faithful to a goddess whom none have ever truly seen.

They believe the shadows of the verdant forest are their sanctuary.
They believe the brilliance of the full moon can dispel all wounds and illness.
They pray to the moon, asking:

“O Goddess of the Frostmoon, when will You answer our wishes?”

Receiving no reply, they ask again:

“O Moonchant Envoy, when will the Moon Goddess respond to our prayers?”

And so, Lauma stepped forth from the shadows of the trees, into the silver glow of the moonlight.

And the faithful bowed before her radiant antlered crown and the totem of silver blood.
Thus, she became the avatar of the vanished goddess.
